No disruption
so you can stare
for as long as it takes?

I did today
it gave me pause
but I am not entirely unhappy
with what I saw.
All the life that I thought
had been excised,
was still there.
What I thought I had become
was not quite there yet
though there were signs...
In the end
I can be hopeful
of what may be,
wary of what has been
and perhaps smarter
for having seen both.
